just retconned the third act of Man of Steel so that only a few dozen people perished at the end (don’t try to convince me that only 76 civilians perished in the third act of The Avengers)? What if Zack Snyder got to make the Justice League movie that he wanted to make? But, come what may, the state of DC Films today is one where Wonder Woman, not Superman, is playing the role usually occupied by the Man of Steel. What if WB had pressed ahead with a Man of Steel 2 with a more conventionally heroic Superman with (allegedly) appearances from Supergirl and Brainiac? What if Warner Bros. ![]() We can all imagine hypothetical what-if scenarios. Nor does the world (or at least DC Films) doesn’t need a Superman at this juncture. And since, oh my, Fallout made more than Justice League worldwide, Cavill doesn’t really need Superman. Having now seen both films, it’s clear which project meant more to the actor.
